Dinner is included, and lunch on most riding days. Breakfast you will have to make for yourself, and is not included. There is a local grocery store in Hofsós where you can do your shopping. We return to our accommodations in Hofsós every night, except on The Mountain Tour.

THE JOURNEY TO ICELAND

• The flight to and from Iceland is not included. Check for example icelandair.com
• Transport Reykjavik – Hofsós is included for the summer tours. You will be picked up at BSI main bus station in Reykjavik. For JF Classic Special 13-20 July we will pick you up in Akureyri (check out Niceair.is for flights from Copenhagen).
• For the Horse Round Up and the Winter Tours you will have to make your own travel arrangements for the journey to and from Hofsós.
• If you prefer to rent a car, there are many car rental companies to choose from. In the winter the prices are close to half of what they are in the busy summer season. See for example autoeurope.com or www.hertz.com (who offers car rental one-way to/from Saudarkrokur).
• Remember to take out travel insurance before your journey.
• Residents of the EU/EEA countries should bring their European Health Insurance Card (E-111 form) in case of illness and need for medical care.

WHAT TO BRING

• To be able to enjoy all kinds of weather, please bring warm and water proof clothing.
• Bring your swimming gear, and you will be able to enjoy hot springs or the fantastic swimming pool in Hofsós, which is next to where you will be staying.
• You DO NOT need to bring your own riding helmet, sheets or towels.
Riding wear – Caution: Disinfect! Used boots, riding wear, helmets, saddlebags etc., must be disinfected before arrival in Iceland. Chaps, bridles and other used leather gear must not be brought to Iceland. That is because infectious, contagious diseases can easily be brought into the country, which poses a great threat for the horses as they are not vaccinated.
• Riding wear is normally washed, and shoes are washed and cleaned, with VirkonS, Iodine or some other fluid disinfectant.
